In large container terminals RTGs can be used stack containers higher and wider than other systems allow.No separate interchange areas are required.
Kalmar's modern RTG design offers good availability.The machine requires minimal on-going maintenance.Its power package is at ground level and the EE-house is positioned close by on top of the sill beam.For maximum reliability, all the crane's AC drives are situated in the insulated EE-house.
